i got a macbook

13.3" screen macbook white.

it's considered brand new, the owner used it for a week and she's selling off because she is not used to mac.

i got it at a steal $1k!!! @ hwz forum.

other people are all selling 1.2 - 1.3k for uncollected macbook or top up 500 for the alu version.

200-300 discount for 1 week use is very good. ahha

i took some pic to compare the size of the screen but i need time to explore more about mac first.

first try, it sucks man, so unlike pc.

now? great!

there's spaces which allow me to work on "4 desktops"
there's expose where i can see all windows at 1 go.
there's adium, which is like msn, but not so good la. hahha
there's email which is like outlook.
there's a lot a lot more.

after fixing things like installing some programs, it will work as well as window and even better. ah well, gotta find out more before i blog more about this.

oh yar, my 20" lcd screen and old desktop is sold at a very cheap price too - $250. heh

desktop is down!!

My desktop has been showing me BSOD 10/10 times i tried to boot it up. I will be too lazy to fix it for now, will be getting something new.

I'm considering between a desktop and laptop.

DESKTOP
I can use my current 20" widescreen, keyboard and mouse and speakers. Good screen, big screen etc etc, but lots of messy wires and give me lesser space.

LAPTOP
I am using a 14.1" display laptop now, well, it's big, definitely big enough for my usage because i just surf the web and check emails etc. 12" may be a bit too small from my previous laptop. 13"? gotta try first.

My choice......

A laptop. I am moving away from desktop now. I don't want so many wires!!!

but heh, i think it may be my hdd or ram problem, let me try to fix it when i'm free tomorrow. Too darn busy today.

life is good~~

coz i drive a swift. aha, but seriously...

1) i'm having a steady source of income
2) i have a nice family
3) i have close friends who are not fair weathered..
4) a nice girlfriend, "wife to be"
5) i'm driving a swift!

ahhaa

Just a few things which i'm can get sad sometimes.

Too busy with work, i don't have time for gf and friends.
Too busy with business, oh, i have 1 current business and i'm setting up another 1 by end of this month with 1 more possible business in 2009.

My goal? I want to have enough money to spend for the rest of my life without putting in too much man-hours of effort to make the money. heh

Once my shop is set up, i will make an announcement here.

As for SIM, i applied too late, i cannot get in, they offered me night classes which i have to consider very carefully because i work at night most of the time. hmmmm....

Thoughts and thoughts on OPTS's knowledge

Knowledge is more important than the cert itself. Who cares if i have all the certs but i cannot give results to my clients?

Where did i get my clients from? Everywhere.
Online, real life friends, referrals etc.

They don't find me because of my cert definitely. It's from my knowledge, and i never hesitate to share whatever i know.

For those who don't know where i get my knowledge from, i got them mostly from Peter Rouse.

Let me give a short overview what the course (Certified Personal Trainer) covers.

It has a good introduction and pretty deep into the followings...
  • Self myofascial release
  • Integrated flexibility
  • Isolated neuromuscular activation
  • Facilitated neuromuscular activation
  • Integrated core training
  • Neuromuscular stabilization training
  • Reactive neuromuscular training
  • Power training
  • Integrated strength training
  • Metabolic training
All these definitely helps all beginners (with all kinds of problems (non major) ) to move like an athlete. How many of you are able to keep a neutral spine while doing an overhead squat? The knowledge i have definitely help you to get you there, provided that you do your homework.

On the way to move like an athlete, you will be experiencing fat loss, muscle gain, better mobility, getting rid of any aches/pain that you will have. This is what i bring to my clients.

Back to the recent hooha at HWZ forum, the people do not realized this and keep flaming me.

I avoided threads like the following because i have 0 understanding and knowledge of the issue.
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2171399
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2171267

Please note that i did not participate in any thread (giving advices) content such as
-improving xx exercise from 150 to 160kg in xx weeks.
-gaining 30kg of lean body mass
-losing bodyfat to a low of 5% for competition

Before you start to shoot for the sake of shooting, find out more before you do it again. It just make you look so silly.

I provide functional training that give results (better body composition, movement, strength etc) too all my clients. If anyone want to bulk from 80+kg to 90+++kg, you can look for me if you want me to correct any muscle imbalances or movement that you have. You need not look for me for a training program because you will probably gain from a trainer who give bodybuilding type of training. Not that this training is not good, it is definitely not suitable for a lot of people.

Look at what i have achieved with over 30 clients in 2008, all experience fat loss, muscle gain, better movement and posture. I dropped any clients that do not do my homework even though they are losing good fat.

Mass gain program: at least 7kg in 2 months
http://kevinchia.sg/testimonials/andrew.html (9kg)
http://kevinchia.sg/testimonials/melvinchua.html (7kg)

Fat loss program: at least 2" loss in waistline in first month, 1.5" in 2nd.

Beta came to me with loads of problem. Serious posture distortion (hey relax, can be fixed over... years though), cannot even squat down (don't mention keep the straight body) and heavy working schedule.

16 workout sessions over a period of 3 months. I will consider this good progress.

I have loads of pictures on my desktop for personal references. (Clients do not wish to appear online)

Before you start planning a program for them, please, make sure they know how to execute the exercises. Program can be found online everywhere.

Coming to program, why is a beginner better off doing total body than split?

Doing more than 3 sets can give serious DOMS.
They may not recover from it. (If you split and hit 1 body part/week, will it be enough?)
They are better off training movement than targetting body part.
They are better off doing 2-3 sets each session, 2-3 session/week than doing all in 1.
It can correct major imbalances, depending on load.
and more

This blog entry is WOT, but it's all my T&T for now. If you still doubt, just try a few minutes with me. I can do things just to improve on your workout form.
