After CNY day 5

After final paper last friday, rushed down to bugis to meet up with kopi soh. The que into the carpark is really long, so this is what i do....

I must say 2007 is my best year so far. In term of "collection" from CNY & in many other aspects of life. I wish everyone Nian Nian You Yu!


My weight dropped by only 1kg this year. heh, coz i tried to eat & eat & eat. That's how i maintain, nevermind the fact that there are junk food. CNY is only once a year, so must eat & enjoy.

My BF% is still dropping. Gonna pump some serious abs workout for visible abs already.

V day is over

the day is definitely over-rated. if you are in love, i mean real love. everyday is a v day.

but it's a good boast for the economy for 1 day though. hhahaha

anyway, i will be finishing year in @ ngee ann poly real soon. i have not regreted joining NP even though i'm 24 this year. i have changed myself quite a little bit. & the knowledge gained is definintely invaluable.

the module which i think is the most useful? gotta to be BLAW so far.
the few other modules which i think are useful.
FMGT, CMA, Accounting, Biz stats, OM.

i have learnt about money, how to budget & plan etc. useful isnt it?
& i know the difference between LLP, company etc. this will definitely be useful to me too.

ok, i am embarking on my career already. it will be another hard year to juggle work & studies, but i can definitely do it!

oh yar, gonna have a very tiring week ahead.
after exam tml! i will be getting very little sleep for so many days in a row!

do we need supplement?

I used a lot of supplement when I started working out. The gain is really good. I shot from 1.72m 55kg to 68kg in less than 2 months. I started to be anti supplement during my late training stage. I will try to explain clearly about the usage of supplement, why am I pro & anti against them at different stages of my training.

(Bodybuilding) supplements are substances taken by athletes involved in weight training or other sport to aid in the building of muscle mass or aid fat loss. Bodybuilding supplements may also be used to improve sports performance and improve recovery from events and training. (Definition taken from Wikipedia.com)

As I have kept stressing, there is no miracle pill/supplement in this world. One will never get his/her desired body just by popping pills or eating some powder. I have seen skinny people who want to gain lean muscle mass. They eat a lot of mass gainer (ok, their mass gainer can be lousy, I’ll explain why later), their training is can be decent, but their diet is very lousy. They cannot expect to put on a lot of muscle mass by having 3 servings of mass gainer a day & not eating properly for the rest of the day. Without proper utilization of the supplement, they are just passed out from their body, unused. This is why some people can have “expensive urine”

The same goes for people who used thermogenic products (eg: Hot Rox) to lose fat. They cannot expect to lose the fat on their body by just popping 3 pills a day down their throat & eating junk food for the rest of the day.

By working out properly & dieting properly without supplement, you can definitely reach your desired body. Hard work & discipline are a must. The process can take from 2 months to 6 months, although you can see significant changes in your body in a month. This process can be shorter, the result can be better, when proper workout & diet are coupled with the usage of supplement.
Eg: for fat loss, the rate of fat loss can be faster when used with thermogenic products.
Another good reason for usage of supplement is the ease and convenience of feeding your product with product which you may not have the time/effort to prepare.
Eg: Usage of Meal replace product (MRP). For busy people who wish to get the required 5 meals a day, they can substitute a meal or 2 with MRP. BUT, it’s definitely not good for people who eat 3 MRP a day without any real food.

halfway there

CMA was quite easy. I'm only not sure how to do the POHR question. FMGT today is easy. I think my only mistake today is.... forget to do a theory question for 6 marks!!!

left BLAW & HRM. both are theory type of papers. which will bored me to death everytime i touch the notes. YAWN... i'm falling asleep again..

Having my first paper today. There's 4 questions for this module.
5 possible topics.

1) Flexible budget
2) Budget - production/Raw material
3) relevant costing - special order/outsourcing
4) POHR shit
5) Cost/volume/profit

This explain why i take less than 20 hours to "revise" the whole module. Even though i never listen to the tutor in class at all.

Wish me luck. Hope that i'm able to solve all the questions. If i'm that slightly unlucky later, i may even fail the paper!

time to retire from soccer?

had a street soccer session on friday and i played a match on the field just now. that old stupid injury is haunting me again. & there's a new 1. my right toe hurts.

i bought a new pair of street soccer shoes. budget price of $39.90. but doh, i sort of have this new pain in my right toe only after 1 session. i'm gonna give away that pair of shoes already. it's size 7. if u r interested, please email me. self-collect in yishun.



if only there's no happening to my client, i would have start PT with him. and i would not be playing street soccer. and i would not have this pain in right toe. then i would be playing 100% just now in the match. i dare not challenge for all 50/50 ball.

anyway, i guess i would not be joining hen's team. i dont fit into the culture and their playing style. after the end of match, he only reminds me to pay the $. that's it. :/

let me just stick to my main team for the time being. if my pain do not go away in another week. i may just retire from soccer totally. i guess i have lost passion in the game already.

dark secret: why do i play soccer during school time? coz there's supporters. i love the glory. hahaha. but there's no spectator now. so... sian liao lor

Over the years numerous devices have been marketed for weight loss. The majority of these devices are ineffective, and, unfortunately, some are potentially harmful.

Saunas and sweatsuits have, at times, been recommended to help weight loss by burning off or melting away fat. This is a false claim. These devices may induce short-term (ie a number of hours) loss of weight by dehydration. These devices do not burn fat but can cause people to sweat profusely. Overuse of saunas and sweatsuits potentially can lead to severe dehydration. Furthermore, the increase in core temperature that is caused by these devices could be harmful to fetuses during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Other devices such as vibrating belts, bodywraps, and electrical stimulators have been used in an attempt to lose weight. Although these devices may not be harmful, they do not lead to weight loss. The money spend on these useless devices would be better spend on proven techniques. Additionally, if one puts faith and effort into these unproven techniques, one may delay making lifestyle changes that could lead to long-term weight changes.

A widely held myth is that exercise emphasizing a particular body part may cause that area to lose fat quicker than rest of the body. This false theory is called spot reduction. Curl-ups are commonly used exercises that people perform in an attempt to decrease their waistlines. Although curl-ups are terrific exercises for increasing the muscular strength and endurance of the abdominal muscles, they are not very effective for burning fats. As a personal establishes a caloric deficit through regular aerobic exercise, fat loss will occur all over the body, not just the parts where he or she would like to see the decrease.

Programs that advertise rapid, large weight losses are typically deceptive. The rapid weight losses seen at the beginning of such a “diet” are primarily the result of reductions in water weight. It is also important to understand that dietary plans that establish extremely large caloric deficits will substantially reduce RMR and lean body mass and do not establish healthy, lifelong eating habits. The following provides useful information about these fad diets.

Focus on fad diet:
Dietary plans that promise incredible results can be found easily on book selves, in media ads, and on the internet. Many people are looking for quick, easy ways to lose weight, entrepreneurs are eager to supply them. On one description will summarize all fad diets. Many focus on eating one food or food group, whereas others emphasize avoiding certain food. Most of these plans are low in calories and will result in weight loss. (at least according to anecdotal evidence.) however, there are problems. The majority of these diets do not emphasize a balanced diet with an adequate supply of essential nutrients. Over time, these nutritional deficiencies can lead to serious health consequences. Because of the potential for negative health consequences of fad diets, the AHA has “declared war” on fad diets. Another problem with these diets is that they do not lead to lifestyle changes that result in permanent weight loss. Many people follow these diets for a short period of time and then regain their excess weight when they return to their previous pattern of over consuming calories. These diets typically are focus on food rather than behavior change (increasing physical activity, using food substitution).

Hence, a number of “quick fixes” for weight loss are marketed, but these products are at best ineffective and at worst potentially dangerous.

Q: I follow these fad diets, I lost weight, but I never put on those weight again.
A: Compare the difference in diets before weight loss, & after weight loss. Can you see the difference? This mean that you can maintain your new weight because you had a change in diet. Not because of the special supplement.

It is impossible to burn fats by using “slimming gel” or slimming massage. If it is possible, the amount of heat generated will be so great that human may just die from the pain. & if these gel works, why doesn’t the gel burn our skin first?
